It took a while, but spring has finally arrived in the United States, bringing with it a fresh new slate of hairstyles many of which are bringing back the 90s with a vengeance.

Leading the charge is the fringe or bangs as they call them in America in all its forms. Whether paired with a bob, a lob (i.e. long bob), or longer locks, the fringe is a dominant trend. Among fashion-forward people, the micro-fringe, also known as baby bangs, is especially popular, along with the blunt, straight edged version for a more dramatic look. And for those who prefer a more subtle, romantic style, a wispy or textured fringe is the go-to, as well as curtain bangs, parted either in the middle or swept to the side. Shag, layers (think Jennifer Aniston in the 90s) and lots of texture are also back on trend. Women love the style seen on celebrities like Alexa Chung and Karlie Kloss because of its sexy, carefree look, as well as the fact that it works well on any length and doesn’t take a lot of maintenance.
Colour-wise, the golden blonde of the 90s (think Beverly Hills 90210, Pamela Anderson and Alicia Silverstone) is making a comeback, but there’s also still room for the bright hues and unicorn hair trend, which is set to stick around a little longer.
LES TENDANCES COIFFURE DU PRINTEMPS AUX ÉTATS-UNIS
Pour le printemps et lété, les tendances coiffure aux États-Unis retournent aux années 90. Cela a pris du temps, mais le printemps est enfin arrivé aux États- Unis, apportant avec lui une nouvelle liste originale de coiffures, dont la plupart rappellent les années 90 avec un goût de vengeance.
En haut de la liste se trouve la frange ou les « bangs » comme l’appellent les Américains, sous toutes ses formes. Aussi bien associée à une coupe au carré, à un carré long ou à des mèches plus longues, la frange est une tendance dominante.
Parmi les stars au top de la mode, la micro-frange, aussi connue comme « la bébé frange », est très populaire, avec une version atténuée et rectiligne/droite, pour un look plus dramatique. Et pour ceux qui préfèrent un style plus romantique, plus subtil, une frange fine, clairsemée ou nuancée/texturée est à privilégier, ainsi que les « franges rideaux », chacune séparée par une raie au milieu ou balayée sur le côté.
Les cheveux ébouriffés, dégradés (pensez à Jennifer Aniston dans les années 90) et beaucoup de textures sont aussi de nouveau tendance. Les femmes aiment ce style, vu sur des célébrités comme Alexia Chung et Karlie Kloss, pour son look sexy et facile, ainsi que le fait que cela s’adapte à toutes les longueurs et ne demande pas beaucoup d’entretien.
Au niveau de la couleur, le blond doré des années 90 (pensez à Beverly Hills 90210, Pamela Anderson et Alicia Silverstone) fait son grand retour, mais il y a encore de la place pour les couleurs vives ou la mode de la chevelure « licorne » qui sont destinées à rester tendance un peu plus longtemps.
